Spaniel and Value Study

I've been falling behind on my blogging so will post two painting I've recently done. Latest one is a shelter dog that I found advertised. I really liked the lighting and the subject and thought it would make a nice painting. The one below was for this weeks DPW challenge painting an object from life in black and white values. I chose this battered silver vase I won off eBay. I just love it!
