I was up to 3am painting this and even then I had to finish putting the final touches on it, today. I would say I put 10 hours into it all together. It was fun watching the transformation until I felt like I was painting the real thing.

Here is the blocking in stage. I start with my darkest darks in each area. Then proceed to put in my middle values and then highlights. Most important is to have an accurate drawing of your subject matter to pull off realism.

This is the still life. I wanted it in front of the fire to catch the fire's glow in the reflections. Unfortunately the fire started to die out before I was able to capture a lot of it.
